SWEET GLAZED CHICKEN THIGHS

 A simple and savory dish to enjoy with steamed rice.

 


Preparation Time: 3-4 Hours Yield: 4 Servings


Ingredients

3 pounds chicken thighs

1/3 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper 1/4 teaspoon salt

2 teaspoons olive oil

Cooking spray, for greasing ½ cup pineapple juice

4 tablespoons brown sugar

2 tablespoons soy sauce

4 tablespoons water

2 tablespoons cornstarch

4 cups cooked rice, hot

 Garnishing ingredients

2 tablespoons sliced green onions Side serving

Boiled rice

 

Directions

1. Sprinkle salt and pepper over the chicken.

2. Heat oil in a skillet, and brown the chicken pieces.

3. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes.

4. Transfer the chicken into a crockpot and add the oil drippings.

5. Oil sprays the pan and simmers brown sugar and soy sauce.

6. Drizzle over the chicken and then add the remaining listed ingredients,

except for cornstarch and water.

7. Cook on low for 3 hours.

8. Transfer chicken to a serving platter.

9. Combine water and cornstarch in a small bowl.

10. Add the cornstarch to the cooker and cook for 10 more minutes.

11. Place rice on serving plates and top with chicken pieces and sauce from

the crockpot.

12. Serve with sprinkling onion over top.
